VOICE

Mark has a tremendous voice, and this section of the site is dedicated to that amazing talent. There are many aspects to Mark, but his singing is one of the most important ones. He seems to have this soulful voice within his unassuming persona, and if you had never heard him sing, the last thing you would probably expect would be such a versatile singing voice which in all honesty really shouldn't belong to this young guy from Ireland. Even in the very early IOYOU songs, Mark's ability is clear. While his bandmates struggle to even be heard, Mark's voice rings out above them all and earmarks him as a true singer. He has the type of voice which makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, or gives you goosebumps as you listen. That's what makes him talented - the way in which his singing can draw so many emotions and so much respect, at least amongst Westlife fans. Sadly, most of the wider world doesn't want to recognise Mark for his brilliance, at least not while he comes under the banner of 'boyband member', something which is taken to be synonymous with 'no talent, ignore at all costs'. It's a shame but it's their loss, because as long as there are people who want to hear Mark sing and who keep being affected by his voice, it doesn't matter. He is doing what he loves and we love him for it.
